Rebecca M. Decoster is a member of the firm’s litigation practice group, focusing on commercial litigation and family law.
As a family law attorney, Ms. Decoster represents clients in all aspects of family law, tailoring the approach in each case to the client’s needs and circumstances to minimize the financial and emotional toll that can be encountered in family law disputes. Keeping the interests of each client paramount, Ms. Decoster zealously advocates for clients to resolve these disputes, whether by agreement or through aggressive and effective litigation when agreement is not possible. Ms. Decoster has successfully litigated both routine and complex property division cases, business valuation cases, child custody disputes, child support matters, paternity cases and relocation requests. She also provides services in the areas of pre-marital and post-marital agreements, separation agreements and annulments.
Ms. Decoster has published numerous law review articles in the area of family law and child protection and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Family Studies at the University of Utah College of Law from 1999-2000.
As a commercial litigator, Ms. Decoster has represented a variety of commercial and individual clients at every stage of the litigation process. Her cases have included matters involving commercial contracts and transactions, shareholder disputes in closely-held businesses, construction disputes, business torts and employment-related claims.
She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and its Litigation, Family Law and Child Advocacy sections.
