Class Action
The Class Action Practice Group has a depth of experience in the defense of class actions in a variety of settings in both state and federal courts. Members of the group have successfully defended class claims as small as a class action brought regarding the alleged overselling of tickets to a concert, to a $90 million class action regarding the syndication and construction of a resort hotel project, to a class action regarding allegedly incorrect resetting of interest rates on ARM mortgages. The Class Action Practice Group is managed by the co-chair of the State Laws' Subcommittee of the Class Action and Derivative Suits Committee, American Bar Association Litigation section, who is also Editor-in-Chief Emeritus and the Michigan contributor to that subcommittee’s Annual Survey of State Class Action Law.
