Mr. Curran is the Head of the Firm’s Environmental and Insurance/Risk Management Group. For the past 28 years, he has counseled and represented corporate, insurance and municipal clients in Michigan and nationwide regarding environmental compliance, permitting and insurance coverage matters and in complex litigation involving generator, transporter and treatment, storage and disposal facility owners and operators under both federal and state law and defense in environmental contamination litigation, and in connection with real estate acquisitions, land use and Brownfield Redevelopment funding, compliance auditing, wetlands development and captive, self-insurance and reinsurance programs.

Mr. Curran is the Editor of the Insurance Law Chapter of the multi-volume Lawyers Cooperative Publishers textbook, Michigan Environmental Law, and has authored numerous articles in legal journals and environmental trade association publications concerning environmental compliance, negotiating with regulators, risk management and insurance issues. He has lectured and written extensively on those topics in the United States, France and Germany before international clients, business associations and bar association groups.
