Mr. Kavanaugh is an associate at Kotz, Sangster, Wysocki, and Berg, P.C. He concentrates his practice in all aspects of construction law, including contract drafting and negotiation, claims analysis and litigation or arbitration arising from construction disputes. Mr. Kavanaugh has also represented clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation, real estate, breach of contract and collection matters. Mr. Kavanaugh's construction cases range from lien foreclosure actions to assisting in complex litigation resulting from defective construction.

While at the University of Illinois, Mr. Kavanaugh was a Chick Evans Scholar. While in law school, Mr. Kavanaugh studied as a Dean's Scholar and completed a Judicial Externship under the Honorable Edward Burr of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
